Just so you know...

There is absolutely no rhyme or reason to my, er I mean "our' blog. When the mood hits me I write about something. I don't mean to offend anyone... certainly not my goal. I just want people to learn about us and get to know us better. We like comments, so feel free to post some!

30 Day Picture Challenge - Day THREE

DAY THREE - A picture of the cast from your favorite TV show.
DEXTER: I'm not sure what bothers me more, the fact that I really like this show, or the person that came up with it.... This is the only series that I watch. I'm not much of a tv person. I normally don't have the attention span to sit down and watch something, but this show intrigues me. As a matter of fact, we netflix it and watch a few episodes a night... many times I've begged my husband to stay up late to watch "just one more" because I can't stand waiting until the following night. Of course, he always does, because he loves me :)

30 Day Picture Challenge - Day TWO

DAY TWO - A picture of you and the person you have been closet with the longest.

My heart just smiles thinking of this girl. We were childhood friends, went our separate ways in high school and after a terrible incident in which she shattered her leg we became good friends again. Until I landed myself in a troublesome relationship. After that relationship ended we were friends again, and started talking all the time.  After the loss of our baby we became even closer and I don't know what I would do without her.  She knows more about me than anyone. She knows my heart, my faults, my mistakes, my accomplishments and she's never judged me or treated me differently. She's always had my back, even when I didn't realize it. She is the true meaning of a friend. Every time Nick and I go "home" to visit, she ALWAYS takes the time to visit with us. It means the world to me.... this lady is too busy, but never too busy to spend time with me. I love you Peaches and Jam!

30 Day Picture Challenge

There is this picture challenge going around on Facebook (okay who knows maybe it was going around a year ago and I just caught wind of it!) that I thought was kinda neato. I decided to blog each day for 30 days about these random pictures instead of doing the Facebook thing. I spend entirely too much time there and not enough here, so I thought it might help me get into this "blogging" world a little more. After looking into it a little more I found that there is a 30 day, 60 day, and 100 day challenge. I'm totally sticking with the 30 days... I'll be lucky if I can get through a whole month!

Another contact

We were contacted by another expecting lady recently. She had emailed us, and we sent a reply back and have heard nothing in return. I have been so busy lately with other things, that I haven't thought about it much. Nick has asked about her several times. I think maybe he was a little nervous? I just know when the timing is right everything will fall into place. Granted, I would love for it to be right now, but I'm okay with it not being. I've been debating on whether or not I want to get the nursery painted and decorated. I have an idea of what I would like to do, just not sure if I should wait until we are matched or if we should start now. K is super excited about becoming a big sister. She tells me all the time that we need to go shopping for her baby brother or sister. She says, "Mom, we have to buy A LOT of bibs, because babies are messy!" Oh, my sweet child, you have no idea!

It's that time again!

It's garden time again! My dear sweet husband built a raised bed for me this year. I think I'm going to LOVE it! We decided to change the location of the garden this year because we would like to use the area we had it last year to build a shed. (wow that is a really long sentence!) He went to the local nursery and picked up some mushroom compost for me today. (apparently it's suppose to be really good for growing vegetables... I'll let you know this fall ;))  I shoveled a truckload full of dirt into my new garden bed. As of yet, I'm not sore, but I'm pretty sure tomorrow I'll be feeling it!

And of course, Miss K helped....

A Drawing of Me?

As I was steam cleaning the carpets yesterday, my sweet daughter asked if she could draw a picture. "Of course you can," I replied. I sat her down at her Dora table handed her a red crayon and said, "Only on the paper please." After she was crouched over her paper for several minutes, I finally went over and asked if I could look at her picture. "Mom, it's a picture of you!" "Oh how sweet, I love it!" I write about this picture for a couple of reasons. 1) It's rare that she draws a picture for me, all of her pictures are for Daddy. 2) It's the first time that she has drawn a picture I could actually tell what it was. There is clearly a head, hair, eyes, mouth, body, and arms. I asked her about the hair, and she said "Mom, you have crazy hair!" Awww, thanks dear. :)
So then I asked about my face... "why am I not smiling? You drew a frown, a sad face." K says, "Because, Mom, your sad." Hrmm, interesting what little kids pick up on! Regardless, I'm so proud of her!
