Holidays (and especially Christmas) are rough times. It's always in the back of my mind that I *should* have two little ones to celebrate with. Last year was somewhat tolerable because we had complete file approval and we could proceed with adoption! We had high hopes that we would adopt soon and the thought of it taking this long never entered our minds.. This year, though, marks the 2nd Christmas without our little JB and a whole year of "waiting." It's hard to get in the Christmas spirit, but I know I have to because I do have one sweet little face that deserves the best! This week we decorated and K did a wonderful job "helping." We have two trees and I let her decorate one of them all by herself. She thought she was such a big girl! All the ornaments are in one little spot... I'm surprised the tree hasn't fallen over yet! The other she helped with, but I admit, I did rearrange a few of the decorations. :)
I decided to start this blog so family and friends can keep up with us (and possibly get to know us better). Although technology is so far advanced, it seems difficult to keep in touch with each and every person. Even so, we think of you often. We are starting a new path in our lives and would very much like to share it with those we love. I'll give updates, throw some tidbits of adoption info out there, and tell some of my thoughts and feelings as we go along!
August 2013
Just so you know...
There is absolutely no rhyme or reason to my, er I mean "our' blog. When the mood hits me I write about something. I don't mean to offend anyone... certainly not my goal. I just want people to learn about us and get to know us better. We like comments, so feel free to post some!

She is such a beautiful little girl guys! I pray for your family every day :) *hugs*
Sometimes I think we set our expecations too high, which makes the overwhelmed feelings we're already experiencing even worse. Here's hoping we both find at least a dash of holiday spirit, at least for our little ones!
