My husband loves to hunt. I am not a big fan of hunting, or fishing but I'm okay with it as long as it makes him happy. I come from a family of hunters. My dad loves to hunt! I remember having to get up extra early on Christmas to open presents so he could watch us and still get out early to go hunting. Our schools would shut down for deer season because there were never enough kids going to have school. Small town, eh? I really just don't understand it I guess.
Our next door neighbor invited Nick to go on a swan hunt with him this year. Apparently swan hunting is a huge deal around here.Swan permits are by lottery only in North Carolina. Only 5,000 permits are issued. Nick was pretty excited when he was drawn for a swan permit, because he has never gone before. A group of guys and gals went out Saturday at stupid early and it was crazy cold! When I got up it was 28 degrees, so who knows what it was where they were!
I didn't go, but one of the gals that went sent Nick some pictures and I have to admit they are pretty amazing! Nick got his bird, first shot. I am a little proud of him, even though I felt so sorry for that poor swan!
I decided to start this blog so family and friends can keep up with us (and possibly get to know us better). Although technology is so far advanced, it seems difficult to keep in touch with each and every person. Even so, we think of you often. We are starting a new path in our lives and would very much like to share it with those we love. I'll give updates, throw some tidbits of adoption info out there, and tell some of my thoughts and feelings as we go along!

Just so you know...
There is absolutely no rhyme or reason to my, er I mean "our' blog. When the mood hits me I write about something. I don't mean to offend anyone... certainly not my goal. I just want people to learn about us and get to know us better. We like comments, so feel free to post some!
